- Postgraduate Selection Criteria: Minimum 60% at the graduation level from any recognized university.
- Undergraduate Eligibility Criteria- Applicants have to complete their higher secondary education with 60% aggregate marks from any recognised board. For reserved category students, the university provides 5% relaxation in the obtained marks in the board.
- Entrance examination- VITEEE, applicants must qualify for the entrance examination to get admission in VIT Vellore.

Vellore Institute of Technology- VIT Chennai Scholarships
Vellore Institute of Technology provides a variety of scholarships in the form of tuition waivers and freeships each year. While merit scholarships are awarded to class toppers, economically challenged students are provided with need-based financial assistance. Students from rural backgrounds who secure top ranks in VITEEE at the district level (in Tamil Nadu only) are given free education.
In addition, Students who wish to pursue a master of Technology are also given scholarships, provided they score well in the GATE exam.
