Placement and Internship at Deccan College of Medical Sciences

Deccan College of Medical Sciences does not have a conventional placement cell like engineering colleges because it is a medical institution. After completing the MBBS course, all students must undergo a compulsory one-year internship at the attached Hospital. This internship provides hands-on clinical training across various departments. The college arranges this internship internally, and students receive a monthly stipend as per Telangana government norms.

Most graduates either join hospitals as medical officers, pursue postgraduate studies through NEET-PG, or start their own practice. The college offers basic career guidance through the academic departments and faculty rather than a dedicated placement cell. There are no campus recruitment drives or top recruiters in the traditional sense.

Scholarships & Financial Support at Deccan College of Medical Sciences

Deccan College of Medical Sciences offers limited scholarships on its own and mainly supports students through Telangana State Government schemes. Eligible students belonging to SC, ST, BC, EBC, and minority categories can avail full or partial tuition fee reimbursement under the Telangana Fee Reimbursement Scheme. 

Economically weaker and reserved category students can also apply for post-matric scholarships through the Telangana e-Pass portal. Merit-cum-means scholarships are provided to a few deserving students based on academic performance and family income. 

All MBBS students receive a monthly stipend of around INR 20,000 during their compulsory one-year internship. However, students admitted under Management (Category B) and NRI quota are generally not eligible for government fee reimbursement and have to pay full fees. Students can also explore central government schemes through the National Scholarship Portal.
