IRMA Admission Process
The admission process for the Institute of Rural Management Anand- IRMA are as:
Post Graduate Program in Rural Management (PGPRM)
Eligibility Criteria
- Educational Qualification: Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university.
- Minimum Marks: Typically, a minimum of 50% marks (or equivalent grade) in the undergraduate degree is required. There might be some relaxation for the reserved categories as per the government norms.
- Work Experience: While the work experience is not mandatory for the candidate but it can also be advantageous for the candidate. Fresh graduates and those with relevant experience in rural or development sectors are encouraged to apply.
Admission Steps
Application Form
- Online Registration: Candidates need to register and fill out the application form online through the IRMA admission portal.
- Application Fee: There is an application fee, which can be paid online as part of the submission process.
Entrance Exam
- IRMASAT: Applicants must appear for the IRMA Social Awareness Test- IRMASAT, which is a written test designed to assess candidates’ understanding of social issues and rural management.
- CAT/XAT Scores: Candidates must also have valid scores from the Common Admission Test (CAT) or Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT). IRMA considers these scores as part of its selection process.
Shortlisting
- Based on Scores: Candidates are shortlisted for the next stage based on their performance in IRMASAT and CAT/XAT scores.
- Academic Performance: Shortlisting may also consider academic performance and work experience.
Personal Interview (PI)
- Interview Process: Shortlisted candidates are invited for a personal interview. This stage assesses the candidates’ suitability for the program, their understanding of rural issues, and their motivation for pursuing a career in rural management.
Final Selection
- Overall Evaluation: The final selection is based on a combination of the IRMASAT score, CAT/XAT score, personal interview performance, and past academic records.
- Merit List: A merit list is prepared, and selected candidates are offered admission.
Admission Offer
- Offer Letter: Candidates who receive an admission offer must confirm their acceptance and complete the enrollment formalities.
Fellow Program in Rural Management (FPRM)
Eligibility Criteria
- Educational Qualification: A master’s degree or an equivalent qualification in any discipline. A professional degree with a minimum of 50% marks may also be considered.
- Research Experience: Relevant research experience or a strong interest in research and rural development is preferred.
